The Bristol pubs & bars that are going to be back open soon

Remember pints? It’s been over 100 days since lockdown started and one thing we miss more than anything is visiting a Bristol pub.

If you’re looking for Bristol restaurants that are taking place in eat out you can try here.

Happily, pubs and restaurants have able to open back up from July 4th (with restrictions in place) and there are many that are ready to open back up soon.

We’ve found 56 that have opened up various forms, with some just sticking to takeaway for now.

Also please give the pubs and staff a break, it’s a difficult adjustment for many and they will need your support more than ever.

1. The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer

‘The Volley’ as it’s more commonly known is one of the King Street bars that will be opening on July 4th.

This place has a fantastic roof terrace and with King Street itself becoming fully pedestrianised, there will be plenty of outside seating available.

2. Small Bar

Craft beer kings, Small Bar are open and offering takeaway beer from their fantastic craft beer selection. As a bonus Wing’s Diner are also open (but you need to pre-order).

3. The Beer Emporium

The Beer Emporium is an underground Bar / Restaurant / Award Winning Bottle Shop on King Street, the “Beermuda Triangle” who are planning on reopening on the 8th of July.

4. Kongs of King Street

Fantastic bar with arcade games and table tennis (although you’ll have to wait a few weeks till you can play these just yet). They’ll be open next week with food available from Hoba Keba who make fabulous Berlin style kebabs.

5. King Street Brewhouse

The King Street Brew House is a big pub with its own microbrewery on King Street. They’ll be open on July 4th and you’ll be able to order beer to a table via an app.

6. The Apple

Bristol’s wonderful cider boat The Apple brings you the West Country’s finest range of ciders & perries served from a beautifully converted Dutch barge in the heart of Bristol’s Old City.

They’re serving scrumptious cider from their quayside bar with 2 pint or/and 4 pint containers available.

7. Lazy Dog

Boozer with a big pub garden on Ashley Down Road. They’re taking bookings and orders will be made via an app.

A Gloucester Road boozer that’s opening up. You can use the Wickwar app to order from your table.

9. The Grace

Gloucester Road bar with a big garden is planning on opening 5 days a week at first as they find their feet.

10. The Flyer

Another Gloucester Road venue with a big garden. Accepting walk ins but it’s a good idea to book.

11. The Cadbury

Montpellier’s 300-year-old timber-framed pub with a reggae soundtrack, pub games, an open fire and walled garden.

12. Star and Garter

Legendary Montpelier boozer that is currently doing takeaway beer & wine.

The inside pub is going to remain closed however they are going to open on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays and offer outside table reservations on the weekends alongside their takeaway service. You can reserve by calling 0117 904 0509.

13. Cat and Wheel

Black Rat at the ready! One of Bristol’s most legendary boozers is opening back up but sadly with no karaoke just yet.

14. The Full Moon

There’s a huge pub garden in this Stokes Croft pub and hostel, and you’ll soon be able to book a table.

15. Nettle & Rye

The sister pub to The Volley based up in Clifton is opening back up. Expect table service and a mobile ordering platform to limit contact between staff and customers.

16. The Golden Guinea

Great little boozer on Guinea Street in the center of Bristol. Has a beer garden, function room and lower terrace for social distancing.

Home of the legendary Bank Tavern roast, they’re opening back up again from Saturday with table service.

18. Bridewall Beer Garden

A brand space in the heart of Bristol City Centre taking over the space previously held by The Kitchen. The garden is going to be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

21. Old Market Tavern

The Old Market Tavern have a large garden and have put a variety of new measures in place to maintain social distancing.

24. Lakota Gardens

Lakota are opening up their 50 table beer garden for an ambitious set of events. A brand new (sat down) multipurpose event space and 50 table beer garden with a unique entertainment programme, running Tuesday – Sunday every week.

Expect music, comedy, circus, cinema, live football, an al fresco dining experience in partnership with Pasta Loco Bristol and so much more!

25. The Cross Hands

You’ll find The Ostrich on the historic Bristol harbourside, with its huge pub garden and cosy interiors over two floors.

The Hotwells pub boat is opening its top deck up for alfresco drinks and dining with table service only.

28. The Three Tuns

Another Hotwells pub that is planning on opening up on the Saturday. They will have screens in front of the bar and tables socially distanced on the terrace.

29. Bag of Nails

Where else can you grab a beer and pet a cat? Bristol’s cat pub, Bag of Nails are opening back up and putting in additional measures in place to maintain social distancing.

30. The Pump House

Found just on the Bristol docks, the Pump House have been open for takeaway for a while now but are now opening up properly on Saturday.

The Knowle are opening back up complete with table services, a reduced menu and capacity as they adjust to the new rules.

This Easton pub is another under the Zazu umbrella that is opening back up on Saturday.

34. Drapers Arms

Bristol’s first micropub, The Drapers Arms are open for takeaway beers only. Located on Gloucester Road, they’re open 5 to 8pm, seven evenings a week.

35. Colston Arms

Or should we say ‘Ye olde Pubby Mcdrunkface’ as it is now temporarily known before it changes its name.

36. Hare On The Hill

One of Kingsdown’s favourite little boozers, The Hare On The Hill are offering takeaway beer and doing a local delivery serice.

It’s an 80p deposit for a litre glass bottle that can either be returned for the cash or for a refill from a fresh bottle. Or feel free to bring your own container!

Hare on the Hill are open Thursday-Sunday, 3-7pm for collection from the front door of the pub.

37. Green Man

38. The Kingsdown Vaults

The first Kingsdown pub to properly open its doors We will finally return on July 4th at 4pm.

The vaults have said: ‘We won’t be taking bookings for now, as I don’t want to limit the amount of time people can remain at a table (you’ve been waiting for 3 months, chucking you out after an hour or two seems a bit mean).’

The Shakespeare in Totterdown are opening their doors again this Saturday with limited capacity so its best to book before.

40. Snuffy Jacks

Fishpond’s own Snuffy Jack’s ale house is open for takeaway 6pm – 8pm on Thursday evenings so you can stock up on cask / keg beers or traditional boxed ciders in 2 or 4 pint containers & a range of craft beer cans for the weekend!

A Bristol micropub on Chandos Road which is opening on Saturday. Spaces will be a bit limited, But the welcome and range of ales as good as ever!

A wonderful wine bar that have been delivering wine across Bristol. They’re opening from Saturday 10am-Midnight and will be open all the way through to the next Sunday

This great little boozer on Chandos Road has been closed but is now doing takeaway from Thursday.

The Josh Eggleton pub is a staple for Redland residents. They won’t be back on the first day but instead next week.

Kingswood’s micropub has opened back up for the weekends for takeaway only from 3pm – 6pm on Friday and Saturday 12pm to 3pm with some great beers.

47. Orchard Inn

Unreconstructed Victorian boozer with 20+ ciders, 8 cask ales and simple pub grub.

Have been offering delivery and collection of cider plus Haystack Tasty cheddar and good old fashioned pub snacks. Now set to open back up with relevant restrictions in place.

48. Bristol Beer Factory

North Street’s fiercely independent brewery have reopened their taproom from 12-6pm Tuesday to Saturday for your takeaway needs. They’ve got cases, mini-tins and growlers full of your favourite brews.

The Rising Sun will be open from Saturday at 1pm

A Staple Hill micropub selling real ales, ciders, wines & a little gin. They’re currently open 3-6pm Monday to Saturday and 12-3pm on Sunday for takeaway booze.

53. Left Handed Giant

The LHG Brewpub is an independent brewery and bar in the center of Bristol who are offering a click and collect service from their brew pub every Friday and Saturday.

They haven’t announced just yet when you’ll be able to go back inside.

Speakeasy on Cheltenham Road that after opening up for takeaway cocktails is now opening its doors back up again this Saturday, serving Hog Roast Rolls (until they’re gone) alongside their usual delicious refreshing cocktails and drinks.
