For those that have never been, Simple Things is one of the best events for music that Bristol has to offer. A joint undertaking from Crack Magazine, Love Saves The Day and Colston Hall, you’ll find 16 hours of music across a host of amazing Bristol venues on the 22nd of October.

Kano

2016 Mercury nominee has come fresh from releasing his awesome fifth LP – Made In The Manor

Warpaint

American indie rock band straight from LA. This 4 girl piece are full of eerie, mysterious vocals but pump a whole lot of energy into their shows.

Death Grips

The experimental hip hop group from Sacramento will be an assault on the senses, but in a great way. Expect strange and unusual things here.

Ben UFO

A tasty 4 hours of Ben UFO? Yes please. One of the co-founders of Hessle Audio, you’ll see some of the best mixing and variety from his slot at Lakota.

Nina Kraviz

A doctorate in dental medicine and a propensity to throw down a diverse and pulsating sound on the dance floor. She’ll be one to watch for sure.

Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon

Yep, Charlotte Church is playing Simple Things. This is not a drill.

But wait, her recent performance at ATP festival was described as ‘better than The Fall’. Expect ridiculous covers, sequins and a whole lot of fun.

The Venues

Colston Hall

Within Bristol’s largest concert hall you’ll find awesome music not just the main theatre but also great sets in the foyer, the Lantern stage and the superb terrace – great tunes against the back drop of the Bristol sunset.

SWX

Otherwise known as the former location of Syndicate, SWX will be a new addition to Simple Things. The dark interior should see an interesting atmosphere here.

The Island

Featuring an old fire station, a courthouse and a courtyard, The Island is always one of our favourite venues at Simple Things. Expect fun things here. Look out for one of Bristol’s best party creators – Shapes, who will be celebrating their 5th birthday as they host the Firestation.

Lakota and Coroners Court

One of Bristol’s most famous clubs. Lakota will be up and running from midnight until sunrise, you’ll be spending the majority of the last part of your night here listening to Ben UFO blast 4 hours of brilliant music.

The Bierkeller

Just around the corner from SWX and The Island, this place normally hosts Bristol’s metal scene. It will be interesting to see how it adapts to Simple Things.

The Small Horse

Just off of Corn Street, you’ll find a host of breaking talent during the day with extended DJ sets into the early hours.

The Sportsmans

Another new addition to simple things and just around the corner from Small Horse. Expect an eclectic mix of live bands in an intimate setting.

The Gryphon

Just up the road from Colston Hall, here you’ll find a load of up and coming bands from across Bristol.
