    Uber to offer free rides in Bristol this Saturday night

    After more than half a million trips in Bristol, Uber is offering free travel this Saturday night to new and existing users.

    This Saturday beginning at 9pm, anyone using the Uber app to book a trip in Bristol will get £10 off their ride, making rides under £10 completely free. Users can take a maximum of 2 free trips between 9pm – 2am on Sunday morning. This means that a trip from Gloucester Road to Bristol Harbourside which would cost around £10 will be a free trip this Saturday night.

    Uber is also covering the costs to ensure that all the licensed private-hire drivers who partner with Uber in Bristol will benefit from the promotion as well.

    Fouzan Ali, General Manager of Uber in Bristol, said:
    “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response in Bristol and are excited to celebrate with riders and licensed drivers in the city. We’ve seen that many users in the city have come to depend on Uber in the last year for a safe and reliable ride home. So to say thank you, we’ll be offering free rides this Saturday after a night out with friends or family.”

    To redeem free rides simply download the Uber app, create an account and request a car at the touch of a button. Once the booking is confirmed, the rider can see the driver’s photo, name and car registration so they can be sure who is coming to pick them up. They can also watch the car arrive in real-time on the app and share the map of their journey with friends and family. The app notifies riders when the vehicle has arrived, so long gone are the days of waiting outside in the rain looking for a car.
