The Hen and Chicken is a lively bar & restaurant in the heart of Southville, Bristol, with crafty drinks, tasty food and great event spaces.

Our food is American grill in style with stone-baked pizzas, homemade burgers, free-range organic ‘dogs’, waffles & boozy shakes. We serve a traditional Sunday roast at the weekend from 12 noon until it’s gone and we also enjoy taking full advantage of the fantastic Bristol brewing scene for our craft beers & real ales which are rotated on a regular basis.

We have three event spaces available to hire for private parties, music/band nights, talks & live podcasts. Both the Chicken Shed with private access to our courtyard garden & the Studio have both recently been refurbished & are available to hire with access to their own private bar, music & lighting desk. The Studio is also home to The Comedy Box, which in 2019 celebrated its 25th anniversary of bringing some of the best stand-up comedy shows to Bristol & the South West, as well a live music venue featuring the very best Jazz, Funk, Soul and Tribute bands.
