Do you ever look at the TV and think ‘isn’t that Park Street?’. There’s been a huge amount of things filmed in Bristol over the years… we take a look at 9 of them.

1. Skins

Let’s start with the obvious – Skins. The whole thing was filmed here, this particular scene is the old Brandon Hill.

2. Only Fools and Horses

All sorts of scenes were filmed here. From Boyce’s garage which was Miles Motor Company in Ashton. ‘Nelson Mandela House’ actually overlooked Ashton Gate whilst one of the most iconic scenes – Batman and Robin, was actually filmed on Penn Street in Broadmead.

3. Starter for Ten

This adaption of a pretty decent book was all about a Bristol University student. There was a fairly large amount filmed in Bristol including this scene in the Royal York Crescent.

4. Teachers

God Teachers was good. Mostly it was all filmed in Lockleaze School and around Clifton.

5. The Young Ones

What a show! This ridiculous house was actually up in Bishopston on Codrington Road.

6. Casualty

Filmed in Bristol for years, you’ll always see multiple shots of Bristol here. There were even protests when Casualty was set to leave our city!

7. Animal Magic

Remember this kids tv show that ran from 1963 to 1984? Well it was all filmed at Bristol Zoo Gardens.

8. Doctor Who

The 2012 Christmas Special had a very special scene that was filmed in Portland Square.

9. Sherlock

Yet another special here, the latest one was filmed across Bristol. This particular scene of Baker Street was actually filmed on Kings Street, which ended up being shut for the day.

10. The Casual Vacancy

The TV adapation of J.K Rowlings novel was filmed on Silbury Road on Ashton Vale was used as part of The Fields estate
