Bristol Art Collective

Meet the people behind the brilliant Bristol Art Collective

Born from an idea in St Werburghs from founder Ben Adams, realising how many great artists there were in Bristol, the Bristol Art Collective came to life on the Bristol Harbour boat called ‘Love the Sea’. You’ll find artists who are hand-picked to show and sell their works to the Bristol community. All work is limited in numbers and is an amazing place to get decent affordable Bristol artwork.

Ben Adams

First off there’s Ben Adams, photographer and founder of Bristol Art Collective. Photographer of a variety of subjects with landscape photography fast becoming his favourite. Luckily for the world of Bristol photography, 10 years ago Ben’s art and design teacher arranged a transfer to a photography course and the rest is history.

Bruce Cowes

Next up we have Bruce Crowes, whose sign writing career has gone from strength to strength. Creating crisp, clean signage is what he does best; whether it’s gold gliding, traditional hand painting or anything else you might need, Bruce is your man; now working out of the old CID building in town.

Rosie Mclay

Next door at The Island we have Rosie Mclay, who works across a wide range of media, from printmaking to sculptures as well as running a framing shop at The Island.

Dominika Scheibinger

Then we have Dominika Scheibinger, our girl about town. She’s always got her camera in hand ready to take photos of anything from drunken Bristolians getting featured in NiteLife magazine to stunning photos of the Balloon Fiesta. She is also a frequent flyer and documents her adventures perfectly.

Mosia Illustration

Next up we have Mosia Illustration aka Malgosia Piatkowska, obsessed with patterns and textures, Malgosia focuses on the tiniest of details. We loved her beautiful illustrations from the moment we saw them.

Jim Cossey

Then we have one of our favourite snappers in Bristol, Jim Cossey. If you live in Bristol and have been on a computer then chances are you’ve seen his work; his photos of the Avon Gorge and the docks are ridiculous. Enough said.

Susie Ramsay

Next is Susie Ramsay, whose fine art paintings of Bristol are beautiful. She is currently having a little time off with her new baby but will be back in 2016 with a big solo exhibition – watch this space.

Cai Burton

Then we have Bristol Art Collective’s power couple, Cai Burton and Fiona Clabon. Cai creates fantastic black and white illustrations of Bristol and beautiful mandalas with his signature surreal style.

Fiona Clabon

Fiona’s collage ability is next level. Using hand-textured papers that are printed onto with inks. Cutting things up and sticking them back together never looked better.
