The Various Karaoke Bars in Bristol

You’re on a night out in Bristol, you’ve had a few drinks and all you can think about is ‘where can I belt out an 80s classic to the roar of approval of my future fans’.

Well, obviously what you’re looking for is a karaoke bar in Bristol.

From private VIP booths as you get served with sushi, to singing in front of an entire pub, here are 9 places for karaoke in Bristol.

1. Lollipop

What: This is karaoke up to your eyeballs.

You’ll find 11 karaoke rooms, with 100,000 songs in English, Chinese and Korean.

Oh and also there’s normally a dog just chilling reception.. not sure if it sings though.

Where: 64-66 Park Row, Bristol BS1 5LE

When: Everyday – 6pm till late

Price: £20 per person (which also gets you 5 drinks)

2. The Cat and Wheel

What: How best to describe the Cat and Wheel if you’ve never been…. it’s a bar that has 3 Jager bombs for £6 (yep it’s no longer a fiver, bloody Brexit).

It features cheese and ham rolls, cheap pints of black rat and is just a good fun little pub.

The Karaoke nights take place on a Thursday and a Sunday and without fail are always busy. You’ve not experienced a proper Bristol night until you’ve seen the Cat and Wheel go off to an off-key rendition of ‘I want it that way’.

Where: 207 Cheltenham Rd, Cotham, Bristol BS6 5QX

When: Thursday and Sunday evening

Price: Free

3. The Lanes

What: Most likely you’ve bowled at The Lanes, played pool or seen a gig there, but have you truly experience this place until you’ve booked out one of the karaoke rooms? Well maybe.

There is a private karaoke room that is hired out by the hour and can squeeze in 25 people.

Where: The Lanes, 22 Nelson Street, Bristol, BS1 2LA

When: Everyday, 12pm – close

Price: £20 deposit and depends on the number of people

4. Obento

What: One of Bristol’s most popular Japanese restaurants also features 3 individual Tatami style private rooms. You can also hire the entirity of the upstairs restaurant out as a private karaoke party for up to 80 people. That is so much karaoke…

Where: Obento, 69 Baldwin St, Bristol BS1 1QZ

When: 6pm till 10.30pm

Price: Minimum spend of £128 for a group under 8 people

5. Queenshilling

What: This LGBT+ pub/club hosts Karaoke every Monday from 9pm until 2am. Hosted by Rob Downling with 18,000 songs to choose from.

Where: Queenshilling, 9 Frogmore St, Bristol BS1 5NA

When: Mondays, 9pm until 2am

Price:  Free

6. Alterego

What: Alterego is both a cocktail bar and a sports bar on Whiteladies Room. There’s a lovely private Karaoke room upstairs that is available to hire.

Where: Alterego, 77 Whiteladies Rd, Redland, Bristol BS8 2NT

When: 1pm till 12.30am

Price: £15 per person for 2 hours which includes 4 free drinks

7. The Bank Tavern

What: One of Bristol’s best boozers and the place where you probably won’t be able to secure a booking for a roast until 2025 features one of the more unique karaoke nights – Bandaoke. This is karaoke but you’re backed by a full band behind you.

Where:  The Bank Tavern, 8 John Street, Bristol, BS1 2HR

When: Thursdays, 8pm

Price: Free

8. Black Cat

What: This Bedminster pub is dirt cheap (£2 for a pint between 12pm to 7pm) and a karaoke night that takes place every Tuesday. If these reviews are anythign to go by on FB it’s absolutely worth a shout:

Kelly – ‘Friendly bartenders. Cheap drinks. Good karaoke nice people . Good atmosphere’

Korrie – ‘Amazing karaoke! & atmosphere ’

Sarah – ‘Unfortunately this pub does nothing to respect its neighbours. Music and karaoke is so loud and the doors are always open with people drinking on the street despite signs in the pub saying it’s not allowed’

That last one may have been a bad review but personally, that makes it all the more appealing.

Where: The Black Cat, 26 West Street, Bristol, BS3 3LH

When: Tuesdays

Price: Free

9. Stag and Hounds

What: Hang on, there’s a Bristol karaoke night run by the winner of 2006 Big Brother – Pete Bennett.. wait what?
