DJ Derek Memorial Mural Fundraiser

Did you go to the Dj Derek memorial mural fundraiser on the 1st April at The Farm pub in St. Werburghs?

It was a packed evening. It felt like the first festival of the season waiting for the portaloos in the garden. Everyone excited, chatting. Everyone was there. Local street artists, DJS, you name it. Even George Ferguson turned up with a great big grin to bid on some of the final lots of the evenings auction.

I was stood by one gentleman who saw him bidding and just murmured ‘he shall not have it’ before raising his number. But it was all in good fun and it helped fuel the passion for bidding. Highlights include here, where the auctioneer got us all excited as the stencil art and other lots were held aloft. It was very special to hear everyone’s reactions as one key Dj Derek one off stencil was held high for all to see.

In the end much was raised in cash and spirits before people then got to enjoy the excellent Dj tributes. George got a great print. A local street artist near me got his much wanted art piece and I got money in a bucket for the mural and these few snaps to share. Now hold up your hands please one more time for Dj Derek.
