The best of Bristol on Instagram during September

Bristol’s best shots on instagram are here again. Selected by Jess of the marvelous Bristol Igers account.

1. Seawalls Sunset by @ashdarlingxx

Seawalls Sunset

September arrived and brought with it stunning misty mornings and lingering golden sunsets. Jon chose Ash’s photo as our Photo Of The Day and I would’ve definitely done the same. The ice cream van is a symbol that summer’s still clinging on by its fingertips, but the cyclist in his padded jacket suggests otherwise!

2. Scaffolding’s Down! by @scottsalter_

Clifton suspension bridge no scaffoldingThis month saw the scaffolding finally coming down on the east side of the bridge and photographers across Bristol rejoiced! Scott cycled up to the bridge and kindly tagged us in his stunning photo. Another worthy Photo Of The Day selected by Jon.

3. Bristol Breakfast on College Green by @littlepolaroids

College Green in the morningHelen is relatively new to Bristol but soon started tagging us in lots of stunning autumnal shots, such as this. Still warm enough for some folk in the photo to be wearing t-shirts but you can see the leaves changing. This one was chosen by me (Jess).

4. Misty Harbour by @clooroo

Misty Bristol HarbourWe don’t often choose black and white shots as a Photo Of The Day, probably because we spend lots of our time celebrating how beautifully colourful this city is! However this atmospheric shot by Claire was another worthy choice by Jon. I love the various parts of the photo your eye becomes drawn to in turn; for me it’s the bike first, then the Kaskelot and finally the top of the ornate lamppost and cranes shrouded in mist. Clever.

5. Morning Commute by @curly.phil

Bristol sunrise

A cracker from Phil as usual! We’ve been lucky to witness some stunning skies across Bristol during sunrise and sunset over the past month and Phil shows that Prince Street bridge can be a prime spot for excellent early morning captures if you look east (although I’m not so sure right now due to it being covered in scaffolding). Selected by Jon.

6. Autumn Colours by @bentiley

bristol autumnBen is an outstanding IGer who deserves to be more widely known; please check out his gallery if you haven’t already. Another one from College Green but from an entirely different angle. That golden hour sun flare hitting the leaves from behind the cathedral is perfection. Picked by Jon (I did so some work this month, honest….).

7. King Street by @clubofexplorers

King Street BristolAs her username would suggest, Emilie’s been off exploring for a while but it’s great to have her back posting great shots such as this one! Once settled back in Bristol, Emilie headed to a bright & buzzy King Street & captured the Llandoger Trow/Old Duke crowd having a few drinks before sunset. A Photo Of The Day selected by me.

8. Glances by @margueta9

GlancesAnother Photo Of The Day chosen by me and our final favourite for September is this shot by Marga. Love the way Marga’s used a coloursplash effect to highlight the redheaded stranger as she strolls through St Nick’s Market, attracting admiring glances from the clientele of The Crown as she goes!
