15 Epic Bristol Photos

Stunning Bristol Photos From Neil James Brain

It’s been almost a year since I did a ’10 of the best’ for Best of Bristol so I was very pleased when I was asked to do another. However, I take so many photos of our beautiful city that this time it had to be 15! This time it’s a sort of journey around my favourite spots in Bristol. It includes photos taken at some of the brilliant festivals in Bristol that I attend.

1. Starting off at the New Cut at high tide with A Bond

I live my life by tide times and sunsets these days

2. Peeking Penguin

A shot from the balloon fiesta last year. Love taking candid shots of balloons as much as I do the standard shots.

3. View of Chew Valley lake from Dundry

Dundry is beautiful in any season!

4. The Thekla

Great to see it back and with a new paint job. Many great memories of moshing on that boat.

5. The Eye, Temple Quay

Very photogenic building (especially with a very long exposure).

6. Clifton Suspension Bridge

It’s just such a magnificent view. I could take this shot over and over again!

7. The Bristol Whales

Now in their new habitat. Fantastic for the Avon Wildlife Trust to have them in the ‘People’s Nature Reserve, Sea Mills’.

8. Sunset over the Lloyds Building

Was graced with a spectacular sunset that evening.

9. Sunset Flyboarder

Took this shot at the amazing Bristol Harbour Festival 2015. Loved watching these guys practice whilst having a pint at the Cottage.

10. Bristol Honey Bee

Macro photography is still my favourite and primary genre of photography. This shot links in nicely as was taken at Bristol’s Bee and Pollination Festival last year.

11. ‘Under the Boat’

A shot of the SS Great Britain’s hull. A great place to visit and get some shots of this Bristol icon.

12. Upfest

A shot of my amazingly talented cousin Jody working on a piece called Fragile Love. Can’t wait for this years Upfest!

13. Cabot Circus

Love the glass roof here! This particular shot will feature in PhotoPlus magazine later this month.

14. View from Cliftonwood Crescent

Have been visiting this spot for well over 10 years now. It never gets old!

15. Finally back to the New Cut and B Bond at High tide

Ashton Avenue Bridge is currently undergoing renovation and makes for an interesting reflection.

Thank you, I hope you enjoyed viewing the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
